The LSHTM is ranked in the top 10 of all UK universities on overall performance, and ranked second for impact in the 2014 REF. The LSHTM is a unique multidisciplinary institute, combining laboratory sciences focused infectious disease research, with clinicians, epidemiologists, statisticians, health economists, social scientists, molecular biologists and immunologists.

The Faculty of Public Health and Policy (PHP) is the largest multi-discplinary public health group in Europe. It uses multidisciplinary and multi-method approaches to generate new knowledge for specific contexts and test transferability to different settings, and engage with policymakers and providers of health care to ensure research is relevant and translated into practice, both in Europe and in low-income settings. It has particular strengths in health economics and health systems and services research and is responsible for placing the school as one of the top three institutions for health economics research in the UK, according to recent study by World Bank.

The Infectious Diseases Genomic group is a leading international genomics department that has led previous large scale genomic studies on infectious diseases.

  • WP leader for WP5 on comparative health care analysis and cost effectiveness
  • To set up the baseline comparator information on treatment pathways and assess new diagnostic approach
  • To support outreach activities towards stakeholders, health care policy makers and project end-users
  • WP Leader on the Genomics WP (WP3)
